Surveying Contracts Manager

1

Working in Devon and Cornwall with support from local colleagues and our Gloucestershire offices you will be surveying buildings to identify insured peril damage, and estimating suitable repairs.

The successful candidate will typically work on multiple buildings insurance claims at any one time. They will meet with our customers in their homes to identify building damage, specify and schedule necessary repairs, prepare estimates from a clients schedule of rates and then organise materials and labour to undertake the approved works, all on behalf of our Insurance clients.

At times they will need to ‘get their hands dirty’ to get to the bottom of a problem in the home, maybe to find a leak, or to assist in opening parts of the home up to help with drying.

There is a team of support staff and our own trades, along with our approved network of sub contractors who can assist our customers to get their homes back to normal on behalf of their insurer. This is a ‘hands on’ management position and would suit someone new to Management or an experienced builder looking to move into Management.

Requirements

  • Experience of domestic insurance repair work is desirable but not essential
  • Evidence of excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commercial awareness to ensure works are undertaken profitably
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • An attention to detail and willingness to take responsibility for all work
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team

Benefits

  • £28,000 - £35,000 + Bonus
  • Excellent company pension scheme
  • 28 days annual leave (inc bank holidays) rising with service to 34 days
  • Private health care
  • Company vehicle and expenses
  • Full time and permanent position
  • Working for a family company that cares about its employees
  • Continued professional training and development
